Spiritual thinking is divided into two parts - what you should think on and what you should not think on. All true spiritual thinking is based in truth and faith. To think right we should first know ourselves. How well we know ourselves will determine how deeply we are able to see and receive revelation. To know ourselves we must keep our thoughts balanced between who we are in Christ and how dependent we are upon Him.

We all need to hear the basics of the Gospel. But, that is just where we begin. From hearing the beginning we must move on to that which will nourish, grow, and bring health to our being. Obviously it will be that which causes our soul to prosper which brings prosperity to every facet of our lives!

The Spirit of God is about life. Life is why Jesus came.
John 10:10
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
The Holy Spirit testifies of Jesus and His work, (John 15:26, 16:13-15). His message to the believer is life! (That is the preservation and blessing of!) He, the Holy Spirit takes what Christ obtained for us from the Father and makes it known to our spirits. There are times that our minds can't grasp the largeness of our blessing in Christ and only our spirits can receive the Holy Spirit's testimony. When we listen to the word of life then our spirits are nourished as they are fed hope (expectation). The hope that we have in Christ means that we never have to be disappointed or wanting for the promise!

To stay in the spirit is the height of being spiritual. To begin in the spirit and to stay there is also the height of faith. When we are living as spiritual then we will be living by faith. Those that are not living as spiritual can only have runs of faith. They cannot sustain a life of faith as they live by what they see. The spiritual lives by the promise!
2 Corinthians 4:18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, expressing spiritual truths in spiritual words.
The word of God makes little sense to our natural understanding. This is why most did not (do not) understand Jesus. He spoke to the spirit; the natural could not receive what was spoken.

Life for the most part is all about the desires of the heart. It is in the heart where all life decisions are made. The heart of a man is the spirit of a man. The born again are living spirits, the lost are non-living spirits.
John 3:6-7

The spirit of man has a different mindset than the flesh of man. This scares some because they fear lack but the mind of the spirit is life and peace – all that pertains to life – the abundant life, and peace – nothing missing or broken! This makes the spiritual man different than the man who lives according to the flesh. (According to scripture only those in Christ are spiritual all others are controlled by the flesh.)

Follow the Law and you are subject to judgment. Follow the Spirit and you are an heir of the promise. It is simple and yet quite complex if you look through the eyes of your carnal understanding. The Law, while holding the promise of blessing also promises punishment or curses for failing to meet its requirements.

And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.
Faith is the power of the inner being or spirit. Most believer’s fail at faith because they never understand the place of the spirit man in their lives. We try to speak faith from our carnal man and become discouraged because we seem to be powerless. We speak but little happens. We pray but little is received. We act but see limited results due to our domination by the flesh rather than giving the spirit preeminence in our lives! Anything led by the carnality of man will be powerless. Faith is a spirit process!

To not worry about life because we believe that God will care for us is the basic principle of living in faith. Living in faith is simply trusting that Jesus has told us the truth. The world has one version of life and Jesus has another. We either believe one or the other. We will live what we believe. We will believe what we trust.

Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God, (Romans 10:17) If faith comes by hearing the Word of God – Abraham heard the promise of God, then faith could only be strengthened by believing the Word of God. (Obviously you cannot strengthen your faith through doubt!)
To believe the Word you must receive the promise as yours – it and the fruit of it belong to you. If you receive the promise that you believe then you would of necessity give praise and thanksgiving to God for what you have been given.
